About

Head Shot Ralph Domino

I am a Melbourne-based architect with a passion for photography and art. I explore and reimagine the ordinary world by combining lens-based imagery and art and consider myself more of an artographer than a photographer;

Art is my world.

I aim to invoke enquiry and curiosity with thought-provoking, enchanting, and sometimes confronting images — many are abstract.

My debut 2020 exhibition, Reimaginings, at The Jasper Hotel, Melbourne, featured my Metropolis series. Here, I reimagined Melbourne with images of the urbanscape reminiscent of the futuristic city inspired by the iconic film Blade Runner.

Award Winning Photographer

“I was honoured to receive The Photographic Society of Queensland’s APS Gold Medal in their inaugural 2023 Zephyr Photographic Award.

My award-winning entry, ‘Ida – In Decline’, addressed the judges’ criteria by demonstrating innovative photographic expression, creativity and processes.

My image, ‘Fading Memories,’ was also selected as a finalist in this prestigious award”.

“I am truly honoured that The Photographic Society of Queensland (PSQ) has announced that I am the overall winner of the 2023 Zephyr Photographic Award, taking out the coveted APS Gold Medal and cash prize. I also had a second image that was selected as a finalist in this prestigious award. My award-winning entry, ‘Ida – In Decline’, fully addressed the judges’ criteria by demonstrating innovative photographic expression, creativity and processes.”
